Privacy Policy
Effective date: 11 October 2026 · Last updated: 11 October 2026
This policy explains how Qizmo Learning Pte. Ltd. (UEN 202557052W, “Qizmo”, “we”, “us”) collects, uses and protects information when you use our website (qizmo.app) and our app Qizmo (the “App”), together the “Services”. The App is made for primary-school children and the parents who look after them, and we built it to collect as little as possible.
- Children can play the free levels without an account. During free play, game progress stays on the device.
- We create a cloud record only after a parent subscribes or buys a semester pack.
- We never ask a child for their real name, email, phone number, photo or location.
- No advertising, no tracking for advertising, and we never sell personal data.
- Parents can delete the whole family account in the App at any time.
1. Children and parental consent
Our Services are designed for primary-school children. Purchases, family setup and account settings are completed by a parent or guardian, who gives consent on the child’s behalf when the family account is created after purchase. This follows the Singapore PDPC’s guidelines on children’s personal data, which recommend obtaining a parent’s consent for children under 13. Where the laws of another country require parental consent (for example, the US Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act), we rely on the same parent-led process. If we learn that we have collected a child’s personal data without the required consent, we will delete it.
2. Information we collect
2.1 Free play (no account)
- Game progress and settings — levels completed, words practised, in-game items and sound settings. Stored on the device only.
- An app-generated identifier stored on the device to keep the save file. It is not sent to us during free play.
- Limited technical data — such as device model, operating-system version, app version, crash reports and usage events, which may be processed by Google Firebase to keep the App stable and improve it. It is not used for advertising.
2.2 After a parent subscribes or makes a purchase
When a purchase is completed, we create a family account and move the device’s existing progress into it. The family account contains:
- Purchase status — transaction identifiers, product, start and expiry dates and renewal status, received from the Apple App Store or Google Play to verify the purchase. We never receive or store card details.
- Child profiles (up to 3) — a nickname entered by the parent, an avatar chosen from our built-in set, grade level, and learning progress (words learned and when first learned, words that need more practice, levels and stars, in-game currency and items).
- Devices — an app-generated identifier for each device used with the family, so progress can sync and a device can be signed out.
- Optional sign-in with Apple or Google — if a parent links a sign-in, we receive a unique account identifier from Apple or Google. We do not keep the name or email address.
- Parent notes — a short message a parent sends to their child with a daily reward. Only adults in the family can write a note; children can only read it. We keep only the latest note for each child, and new notes replace old ones. Notes are filtered for inappropriate language.
- Notification token — if the App offers notifications and a parent allows them, a push token for that device.
- Support messages — if you email us, your email address and what you tell us.
2.3 What we do not collect
Children’s real names, children’s email addresses or phone numbers, photos, voice recordings, precise location, contacts, browsing history, or advertising identifiers. Children cannot upload photos; avatars come from a fixed set.
2.4 Our website and early-access sign-up
If a parent signs up for early access on qizmo.app, we collect the parent’s email address, their child’s school level and their device type. We use them only to send the download link and news about Qizmo’s launch. Sign-ups are stored by our website host, Netlify. You can ask us to stop emailing you, or to delete your sign-up, at any time by emailing contactus@qizmo.app. We delete sign-ups once they are no longer needed for this purpose. Only a parent or guardian should sign up.
Our website does not use advertising or analytics cookies. Netlify processes standard server logs, such as IP addresses, to deliver and protect the site.
3. How we use information
- To run the game and save and sync progress across a family’s devices;
- To show parents what their child has learned and which words need more practice;
- To verify purchases and keep access up to date when a subscription renews, is cancelled or refunded;
- To deliver parent notes and notifications;
- To keep the Services secure, fix problems and improve our learning content using aggregated information;
- To respond to support and privacy requests and to meet legal obligations.
We do not use children’s information for advertising or marketing profiles, and we do not sell or rent personal data.
4. Advertising and tracking
The App contains no third-party advertising and no behavioural or targeted advertising, and we do not track users across other companies’ apps or websites.
5. Service providers
We share information only with providers that help us run the Services, under agreements that limit how they can use it:
- Google Cloud / Firebase — hosting, database, sign-in and app-stability tools. Family data is stored in Singapore.
- Apple and Google — payments, purchase verification and optional sign-in, under their own privacy policies.
- Netlify — website hosting, early-access sign-ups, spam filtering and sign-up notification emails.
- Email provider — for support correspondence.
We may also disclose information where required by law.
6. Where information is stored
Family account data is stored in Google Cloud’s Singapore region. Some of our providers, including Apple, Google and Netlify, may process information outside Singapore. Where they do, we take steps to make sure it is protected to a standard comparable to Singapore’s Personal Data Protection Act.
7. How long we keep information
- Free-play data stays on the device until the App is deleted.
- Family account data is kept while the account is active.
- When a family account is deleted, we remove it as described in Delete your data.
8. Security
Information is encrypted in transit. Family data can be accessed only by members of that family through the App, and staff access is limited to what is needed to provide support. No system is completely secure, but we work to protect information appropriately.
9. Your rights
Parents and guardians may ask to access or correct their family’s personal data, or withdraw consent, by emailing contactus@qizmo.app. Withdrawing consent may mean we can no longer provide some features. We respond as soon as reasonably possible and within the time required by law. You may also contact the Personal Data Protection Commission of Singapore.
10. Changes to this policy
We will post any update on this page and change the “Last updated” date. For significant changes, we will also let parents know in the App.
Delete your data
In the App
A parent can delete the family account at Head Quarters → Account → Delete data. A short check confirms that an adult is making the request.
- You have 7 days to change your mind. During that time you can cancel the deletion in the App.
- After 7 days, we permanently delete the family’s members, child profiles, cloud saves, learning progress, device records, invitation links and parent notes. Any residual copies in backups are removed in our normal backup cycle.
Deleting your account does not cancel your subscription. Please cancel it in your App Store or Google Play settings, or you may continue to be charged.
Without the App
Email contactus@qizmo.app with the subject “Delete my Qizmo data” and your App Store or Google Play order number, so we can confirm you are the account holder. We will process the request on the same terms as above.
